The dollar held firm versus the yen on Friday after U.S. President Donald Trump indicated a softer approach on Chinese investment in U.S. technology companies.<\/p>\n
The White House\u202fannounced on Wednesday that\u202fit\u202fwould not\u202fbe looking to\u202fimpose the new\u202f25% new limits on\u202fChinese ownership\u202fin\u202fU.S. tech-related companies, as reports had suggested earlier in the week. Instead, the government would\u202frely on the newly strengthened Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States, or CFIUS, to deal with concerns.<\/p>\n
The\u00a0<\/span>U.S. Dollar Index<\/a><\/span>, which tracks the greenback against a basket of six major currencies, stood at 95.02, up 0.01%.
